
Keefe's Marine was started and was owned by George Keefe in the early 50s, Alan's great-grandfather. It was passed onto John Keefe and then owned by Kerry Keefe, Alan's father and was first located on Forest Avenue in Portland Maine in the early 70's. George Keefe also owned the lodge and Marina on Thompsons Point on Sebago Lake. It was closed after John Keefe, Alan's grandfather passed away. After closing down Keefe's Marine Kerry worked for the Albert G. Frost Company in Raymond Maine and later moved to Scarborough. He finished off his career at Royal River Boat Yard.

Alan Keefe started his career off by working at Richardson's Boat Yard in Windham ME after being there for 17 years, his father, Kerry Keefe got ill and Alan decided to re-open Keefe's Marine on 335 Roosevelt Trail, Naples Maine. As Alan's business became more successful, he built a new building at 3 October Rd. Naples Maine, in the winter of 2020. Alan has now been in business for 30 years and he is now the 4th generation of Keefe's Marine.
